How Can I Build A Simple Website With Free Hosting?

Posted by: the_boz  :  Category: Free Hosting

I want a simple website largely for hosting some images. I do know some programing from using Dreamweaver.
Is there a simple site where I can build something on a simple template and host it for free?
I would like something a little better than geocites, ideally.

Microsoft (free domain and hosting for life) , Google (Googlepages, Blogger) , Yahoo (Geocities), Freewebs are some of the companies offering free websites with design tools . A list of free websites with features and links is available at http://tinyurl.com/lw7kp

If your ISP issued you web space then you can use this free space to host your site. Check your ISP package as they will sometimes also offer FTP facilities or links to free programmes.
If not then it might cost you a little but consider signing up an ISP ‘pay as you go’ just to get the space. It will cost you for the time you spent uploading your files but is still a cheap alternative. In fact some ISP’s used to let you upload from a different account, Virgin.net was one but I don’t know if they still do.
If you have a domain name, point it at your ‘free’ web space and hey presto, who’s to know! Before anyone gets big idea’s doesn’t work well for commercial sites for all sorts of reasons!
If you need an html editor then try http://www.pagebreeze.com/
    Cheeky but cheap:-)

    Google is excellent. http://pages.google.com/
Microsoft is not too bad. http://officelive.microsoft.com/
Others vary. If you have time and patience, try them.
If you don’t mind paying $6/year, use 1&1.
5 page website, 1G mailbox and your own domain.http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=8292866

You can host your website on the WWW for free with microsoft. Go to its website and have a look for a program called PPW or something.
