With Geocities Closing, I Need A New Free Server To Host My Html Website. Any Good Suggestions?
Posted by: the_boz : Category: Free Hosting
Hello! I’m looking for a free website hosting service, since Geocities is closing.
I need to be able to upload my html files, picture files, CSS style sheet, and have a unique domain name (such as how geocities websites are www.geocities.com/username). Anything similar to how Geocities uploads files would be great.
Thank you!

Try this: http://www.000webhost.com/190378.html
They provide hosting absolutely free, there is no catch. You get 1500 MB of disk space and 100 GB bandwidth. They also have cPanel control panel which is amazing and easy to use website builder. Moreover, there is no any kind of advertising on your pages.
You can register here: http://www.000webhost.com/190378.html

If your current internet provider is Earthlink, AOL, SBC Global and others which provide a homepage; you can easily FTP your own webpage designs as a new homepage created by DreamWeaver, FrontPage or even Netscape Composer. And using a redirection service such as mydomain.com or the forwarding of a parked domain name at godaddy.com, you can easily “mask” the homepage URL with a proper domain name. So in a sense, you have a working ecommerce website disguised as a homepage while still paying your normal monthly Internet provider’s access and hosting fee of the homepage.
Good luck!

Hi!
I use http://www.bravenet.com as it has tons of free tools and it has a very simple FTP. It is free but it will have ads on your web pages – a small cost to bear.
The pro version, which I use, is only about $8.00 per month which I find is tremendous value.
Hope that helped and good luck.
Kind regards

I really like WebStarts. It is so easy and very, very versatile. I was shocked with what all you can do on the site. I had my first page done in about a half an hour and I am so pleased with it.
Here’s a link to the site. You’ll want to take a look around at least. Enjoy it!!http://www.webstarts.com/?aff=whf
